The Andean Democracy Research Network received funding in 2008 from the Martha Piper Fund (UBC), the Glyn Berry Program of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Governement of Canada (DFAIT) for the first pilot phase of the project (Andean Democracy Research Network), as well as the UBC Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions (CSDI) in the Department of Political Science.
The Andean Democracy Research Network also funding in 2010 from the Ford Foundation and CSDI.
